A&A Co., Ltd., our distributor in Japan, recently held Vectorworks Solution Days 2013 in Tokyo.
At this event on May 9 and 10, which attracted about 400 people, 18 hardware and software development companies displayed their products. In addition, 11 Vectorworks users gave presentations that demonstrated how the software can be used in a wide range of applications.
The keynote speaker for the event was Mr. Junya Ishigami of junya.ishigami+associates, who uses Vectorworks software in his designs. He introduced the audience to his notable projects, including KAIT Workshop of Kanagawa Institute of Technology.
Mr. Akihito Fumita, an architect who specializes in spatial design and also uses Vectorworks software in his practice, gave a lecture on his ideas regarding detailed spatial designs and the way in which we perceive space.
On the second day, several presentations on architectural and landscape design and stage lighting and theatrical design were given by leading experts in their respective fields. Presentations of note included a proposal of the project in Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture by Mr. Suemitsu of SUEP and a case study of lighting design used in Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc.
