The Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) has launched a Sustainable Sites Initiative™ (SITES™) project to redevelop the historic grounds around its Bladensburg, Maryland headquarters. To achieve this goal, AWS is honoring the site’s heritage by minimizing excavation and recreating habitat through native planting. Economical and aesthetic sustainable site development will also provide education and demonstration opportunities onsite for AWS’ staff to teach others about stormwater and runoff issues, as well as solutions.
AWS is using Vectorworks Landmark software to design this project, as well as meet the challenges associated with the site’s historical and archaeological importance, drainage issues, and more.
