Team using Vectorworks software wins award at Build London Live 2012 Open BIM event

The Build London Live 2012 Open BIM event was an example of true collaboration, as 11 teams from around the world utilized cloud-based technology and a variety of software platforms to create their entries. The 48-hour virtual design competition was held May 21-23.

Team BIM Unlimited won the design award for “Best Use of BIM for Design, Drama, and Excitement.” This international effort included professionals from the U.K., Brazil, Japan, and France. Estudio Caribe from the Dominican Republic used Vectorworks Architect software for the architectural design, and structural and energy analysis, HVAC, pedestrian simulation, and other calculations were conducted using Scia Engineer, DDS-CAD, CadFaster, ArchiWizard, and SimTread software, as well as the Asite BIM viewer and document management server.
