Last week, members of the Vectorworks team traveled to Washington, D.C., for the AIA 2012 National Convention and Design Expo. We gave demonstrations at our booth of Vectorworks Architect, as well as some great new offerings: CadFaster, SimTread, Vectorworks Cloud Services, and AR-works.

We gave presentations on Open BIM, and we were thrilled to have several guest presenters at our booth, including author and architect François Lévy; Tuomas Holma from CadFaster; architect Michael Timcheck from The M Group; Ali Reza Honarkar, RA, and Jeff Roberson, RA, from Divison1 Architects; and Dan Monaghan from Nemetschek Scia.

Also, our BIM Specialist, Jeffrey Ouellette, Assoc. AIA, co-presented the educational session “Digital Connections: Better Designs, Better Buildings and Better Practices with Better BIM Interoperability” with Deke Smith, FAIA, executive director of the buildingSMART alliance. All in all, it was a great show, and we look forward to attending next year!
