German Pavilion at 2010 World Fair designed with Vectorworks

Marry the expertise of  German expo designers with Vectorworks and you get an amazing, eye-catching pavilion!

On May 1st, the World Fair Expo opened  in Shanghai, China with the theme “Better City, Better Life” and the German Pavilion, designed by Milla und Partner, took the form of a national pavilion called “balancity” – a newly-coined word signifying a city in balance.  Using typical urban spaces and elements, it illustrates life in Germany and showcases German-made solutions. Visitors will see how a city can be a good place to live. The goal is to maintain a balance between modernization and preservation, innovation and tradition, community and the individual, work and leisure, and between globalization and national identity.

So if you happen to be in Shanghai–remember the World Expo runs until October 31st–be sure to stop by the German pavilion to embark on a journey through a city of ideas, moving around as they would in a real city–on foot, moving walkways and escalators–through thematic areas representing different urban spaces.

Congratulations to Milla und Partner for creating such a fascinating pavilion. And be sure to check out the official website of the German Pavilion at EXPO 2010.
